It's a Bird...It's a Plane...

Nope, it's just me ziplining through the rainforest.

Last weekend I went to the Monteverde cloud forest with my friend Patty and it was legen...wait for it...DARY! It was my first long distance trip (4 hours on a bus winding through the mountains on unpaved roads) in Costa Rica, and by long distance I mean relative to the size of Costa Rica, in China a 4 hour trip would be considered an extremely short distance to travel. Anyway, it was amazing. We went ziplining, went on a night hike through the jungle (the highlights were seeing sloths, coati, a pit viper and a tarantula) and spent the rest of our time wandering around and just enjoying the beautiful scenery. Oh, we also went to the serpentario because Patty really likes snakes (...why did it have to be snakes?)

.

I've been incredibly busy the past couple weeks with traveling, work and taking Spanish classes so I haven't had time to do much else. Time has been flying by, I can't believe it's almost March! And I don't really see things slowing down anytime soon, which is a good thing. I'm having such an amazing time with everything, I just wish I had the time to write everything down and share it with all of you.

Chasing Waterfalls

Hola Reader! I apologize for not posting sooner, but I've been really busy. Last Sunday I took a day trip to these awesome waterfalls with one of the other teachers (Patti). The trip was planned over Karaoke the night before and we pretty much had a perfect day. Everything just fell into place for us, including getting picked up by a nice Canadian couple in a car while we were waiting for a bus that may or may not have actually existed. I guess this counts as hitchhiking, but it didn't really feel like it because they were foreign tourists as well.

Since I actually did something last weekend, I got a little behind in my lesson planning and grading and I spent all week trying to catch up. I'm still getting used to the books, so lesson planning takes a little longer than I would like. I'm also still in that beginning overzealous phase that comes with starting a new job, so I've been working a lot. In a good way though.
